STRONG VETO RECORD - Defended Nevada families and businesses from bad, partisan legislation with over 160 vetoes – a state record. HIGHEST EMPLOYMENT IN STATE HISTORY - More Nevadans are working today than ever before. DEFENDING NEVADANS - Led Colorado River conservation efforts to help protect Nevada's water supply and stood up for Nevadans against California's extreme energy policies. ELIMINATED BURDENSOME REGULATIONS - Cut or streamlined over 900 regulations to make government more efficient and to keep Nevada competitive Ordered all state employees to return back to the office, so that they can serve constituents quickly and professionally. Reduced the state vacancy rate by 50%, and cleared the unemployment backlog and implemented a new unemployment insurance program.
ACCOUNTABILITY AND SAFETY Passed landmark accountability laws to hold failing schools responsible and strengthened discipline policies to protect teachers. SCHOOL CHOICE AND OPEN ENROLLMENT - Passed the most significant school choice legislation in Nevada history, giving more families more options for their children's future. CHARTER SCHOOL EXPANSION - Secured $100 million for 7,500 new charter seats and opened the door for cities to sponsor new schools. EARLY LITERACY - Restored funding for the Read by Grade 3 program to give kids the foundation they need HISTORIC FUNDING - Delivered the single largest education investment in state history – $2 billion in new funding – which equates to over $2,000 more per student. TEACHER SUPPORT - Delivered permanent pay raises for teachers, and fought for equal pay for charter school teachers.
VETOED SOFT-ON-CRIME-BILLS - Protected Nevadans from partisan legislation that would have made our streets less safe. CRIME REDUCTION - Nevada has seen a 10% drop in violent crime, including fewer murders (-9%), robberies (-26%), and burglaries (-15%). LAW ENFORCEMENT SUPPORT - Delivered double-digit pay increases for Nevada law enforcement. CRACK DOWN ON WORST OFFENDERS - Increased penalties for drug dealers and limited early discharge from probation for gun violations and home invasions. FIGHTING FENTANYL - Increased penalties on fentanyl traffickers to crack down on drug crimes. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROTECTIONS - Strengthened safeguards for victims while ensuring swift justice.
BUSINESS-FRIENDLY NEVADA Cut and streamlined burdensome regulations to make Nevada more business-friendly and competitive. JOB GROWTH Oversaw a 4.3% employment increase since 2022, one of the fastest in the nation. RECORD ECONOMIC INVESTMENT Generated over $5 billion in new economic investment in Nevada, creating over 10,000 new jobs. RECORD SAVINGS Secured the largest state savings ever in the Rainy Day Fund. NATIONAL RECOGNITION Nevada ranked Top 10 state for business by U.S. News, WalletHub, and the Tax Foundation.
ATTAINABLE HOUSING Championed and signed the Nevada Housing Access and Attainability Act, investing $183 million to create new housing for middle-income families and essential workers. INCREASED HOUSING INVENTORY Added 6,500 new rental homes in the Nevada Housing Division pipeline, which will help ease the housing supply shortage over the next 2 to 5 years. SUPPORTING NEVADA HOMEOWNERS Oversaw the authorization of $1 billion in bonding authority to develop and preserve more than 5,500 rental homes and an additional $900 million in bonding authority to support over 3,300 new Nevada homeowners. REDUCED TAXES Reduced the tax burden on Nevada businesses and lowered the Modified Business Tax rate by 15%. CUTTING RED TAPE Streamlined housing construction processes to lower costs and speed up development. CAMPUS FOR HOPE Broke ground on a transformative homelessness center to provide services and shelter for vulnerable Nevadans.
CREATION OF THE NEVADA HEALTH AUTHORITY Established the Nevada Health Authority to ensure access to affordable, reliable care through streamlined health care programs, innovation, and leveraging the state's buying power. CHILDREN'S HEALTH Supported construction of Nevada's first stand-alone children's hospital (Intermountain Healthcare). WORKFORCE INVESTMENT Increased funding for workforce innovation programs and career and technical education programs through landmark education legislation. STATE WORKFORCE Secured overdue pay raises for state workers and modernized state office buildings, while cutting the state vacancy rate in half. Expanded community behavioral health centers, which create new clinics across Nevada in underserved areas; invested in juvenile mental health services; and signed legislation to increase the reimbursement rates in areas of acute need, especially in mental health services. EXPANDING STATEWIDE INTERNET ACCESS Announced $375 million to deliver reliable high-speed internet to nearly 50,000 homes, businesses, and community institutions statewide, particularly in rural areas.
